• Poorly worded question. Should have said, "Do you get the extra year of warranty if you don't use the program for the toner but use an outside vender to purchase HP toner?, ie Best Buy?

• Hi Nick, thank you for the question. The HP warranty would run in tandem with any third-party warranty you purchase (unless said third-party warranty was structured to be effective at the end of the HP warranty).
