“How do I change the ink cartridge?”

• First off, this printer DOES NOT use "ink cartridges" - it uses TONER CARTRIDGES, like Office "copy machines"! To replace the TONER cartridges, determine which cartridge(s) need replacing and purchase it/them. Next, TURN OFF the printer. Now pull on the top of the FRONT COVER and LOWER it to full open position. Now, grasp the handle at the FRONT of the TONER CARTRIDGE TRAY and pull it "up and forward" until it stops. Now, follow the directions provided with the REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE to remove the used cartridge and install the new one. Re-package the OLD cartridge and either toss it in the trash or mail it to a Toner Cartridge Recycling Facility. NOTE: these instructions are included in the printer's USER MANUAL that is on the Installation CD or downloaded from the HP web site. The REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES most likely include these instructions on an enclosed sheet. Hope this helps...
