“I Occasionally want to print quality HP premium paper photos. Will the MFP M281fdw print 3X5, 4X6, and 8X10 photos from both Tray 1 & 2, or just tray 2? I like the specs, & read 166 page manual. Could not find any info in the manual on photo printing”

Resolution is 600dpi by 600dpi. This will not give the best quality photos. Photo quality resolution is 2400 dpi x 1200 dpi. You can purchase special paper to print photos, but cannot use regular photo paper in a laser printer (it will destroy the printer). See previous post from HP support listing all of the page sizes this printer can print.

I have some HP Brochure paper here, which is a little lighter than photo paper, and it works okay with that - but the paper transport is starting to fail after two months. I would not use any heavy, craft, or photo paper in this device.
