Thank you for reaching out. First check out the letters at the end of the LaserJet model numbers. FDW means Fax, Duplex (double-sided printing), and wireless. The FNW is Fax, Networking (ethernet) and Wireless. Besides those differences the 400 series LaserJets are considered the next model up. You get larger toner cartridges (lower cost per page), single pass double-sided scanning, slightly faster print speeds and a few other minor differences.

Please try again later.One thing is the letter "d" in the model number M281fdw means you can make copies on both sides of a sheet of paper (duplex) whereas the "n" in the M477fnw means you can only make copies on one side of the paper (non-duplex). You can go online and select both printers and select the "Compare" function so you compare them feature by feature.
