That's a very simple question to answer. Of course!! I was a little confused about the the black and colors ink. So I just used the black while I was making copies of a court case I was involved in, then the machine warned me that I was starting to run low, even though I had only used about two thirds of the black. So I switched over to the colors to see if it would look ok, and it came out just as black as the black only. So if you need black for a print job, you can go either way... Use black only or colors, it still comes out black. This printer is so darn easy to use!! You Go Get One For Yourself and you'll see!!
