“If the printer runs out of color ink cartridges and I still have plenty of ink in my black cartridge, can I still print and make copies in black and white only? My 10 yr old Officejet Pro 8500 would not let me do this.”

• As with all 4 cartridge inkjet printers, you would need all 4 inks present in order to print.
