• You should only have to change the cartridge that is empty. There is no need to change those that are only partially depleted.

• If the other ink cartridges still have ink in them, then you'd only need to change the black. If the other cartridges are low, you may want to pick them up so you don't run out of ink the middle of a print job and not have any way to finish it.
