Are you connecting the headphones via USB? Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen) and select "Sounds." Navigate to the "Playback" tab. If your headphones appear in the list, right-click on them and select "Set as Default Device." Click "OK" to apply the changes.
