Actually it is. My son has a Surface tablet and the eraser from the top of his pen worked on my laptop. He tested it. However, this model comes with a pen and the eraser system is a little button on the side of the pen near the bottom that you click to erase. I like it better than flipping the pen over all the time like my son has to do with his Surface tablet, but it may just be whatever your preference is.
