“Has anyone discovered an external USB-C battery power bank that works with this machine? HP is very strict about not supporting other power sources. Anyone find a USB-C dock that works well and powers the laptop?”

Confirmed that the Anker 20100 external battery does NOT work with this laptop. Kind of bummer, because that was how I planned to deal with the low battery life. I have mine charged to 100% right now, and with the display at 75% it tells me I have 5 hours, 43 minutes left. Battery Saver bumps that up to 7 hours. It's the price we pay for this amazing 4K display.

Please try again later.I have the RavPower Super-C Series 26800mAh Portable Charger Type-C + iSmart 2.0 - I have tested it on my HP - Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive - Natural silver - so far it works well on the limited test that I have done - I haven't tried it on the updated x360, but you might want to give it a try
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Ravpower 26800 mAH does not work on my spectre ...033dx despite a website that says that it does work. So stay away from that one. I will be trying the Razer Core with mine as well to power a couple of 4k monitors. Nice little $500 experiment.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm trying the Anker 20100 MaH battery with the LED dial. The laptop displayed this: "For full performance, connect a higher capacity power adapter." I hope it works, because it cost me $85 (with the wall charger).
