Thank you for your question about this HP Victus gaming laptop! I am sorry to hear about the brightness issues that you are having. There are multiple ways to adjust the brightness. If that is not satisfactory, you can return it if it is within the returns period or have Geek Squad look into the issue. HP's factory warranty is one year and Best Buy stores are authorized HP Service Centers, so they can do warranty work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Right click on the Desktop and choose "Display Settings." The very top item is the Windows utility for adjusting brightness. The factory default is usually high, but not all the way up. If this doesn't cure your problem, you either have a bad unit, or you need one with a higher Nits score than 250. Also, you will find the brightness relative to your location: outdoors, even in cloudy weather, it will see dim by comparison.
