Opening Oculus software claims the PC does not meet the minimum requirements, however I have been able to run some programs using the Oculus Rift including SteamVR environments, Google Earth VR, and No Man's Sky.

The 13th Gen Intel Core i5 processor is completely fine, but the other stock components fail to meet the steep technical demands of modern virtual reality headsets. The 8GB RAM is a hard stop: Popular PC VR platforms like SteamVR or Meta Quest Link require a bare minimum of 12 GB to 16 GB of system RAM just to load environments smoothly. Trying to run a VR runtime alongside a game on 8 GB will cause massive stuttering and memory crashes. Also, the GPU is too weak: The laptop-grade NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 is an entry-level budget card. Driving a VR headset requires rendering two separate high-resolution screens (one for each eye) at a locked 72Hz to 90Hz. The RTX 3050 will severely struggle to maintain those frame rates, leading to choppy motion that can cause intense motion sickness. Furthermore, The Meta Quest Link software explicitly blacklists the laptop variant of the RTX 3050 on its compatibility list. If you manually pop open the chassis and upgrade the system to 16GB or 32GB of RAM, you can achieve a "serviceable" low-end VR experience, but It will not handle heavy AAA titles like Half-Life: Alyx, Also, If you are planning to connect a dedicated PC VR headset (like a Valve Index or HTC Vive), keep in mind that this laptop's USB-C port routes video signals through the integrated Intel graphics rather than wired directly to the NVIDIA card. This "Optimus" setup makes traditional display-cable headsets incredibly difficult—and sometimes impossible—on budget laptops. It is far better suited for a standalone headset using wireless streaming.
