The BRAND shouldn't matter, as long as the other specs all match (including frequency). You can put in either a 16 or 8GB module (some say even more--search "RAM" in the Questions field), although if they don't match, you won't be able to take advantage of "dual-channel" memory. Of course, more RAM is always better.

Hello and thank you for asking. The HP Victus uses DDR5-4800 RAM. One slot has an 8GB module, the other slot is free.
