The unit actually comes with a mic, granted it doesn't have a pop filter. It is under the camera and is a ported hole. When you install the vive it'll show up on your sound properties and device manager. The unit comes with ear buds that is attached thru a 3.5mm female connector on the device. Or you can buy HTC - VIVE Deluxe Audio Strap for 99.99 that come with a stereo headset. I personally use my own over the ear headphones which the htc vive headset doesn't obstruct with.

They get the job done, but the $100 premium head set is an excellent buy and better if you can afford it--it holds the headset better/ is more comfortable/ doesn't move around. And it has a dial adjuster in the back to make a quick tight fit.

There's a connection for the audio hookups at the top so look into whether or not Bluetooth headphones are compatible.
