Will this phone be compatible for Daydream VR? null

Unofficially No!! But I installed the apk for Daydream and google vr services and it ran like a champ.

The Mate 9 does have a gyro sensor. We would like to kindly remind you that some apps in the Google play store may not be compatible. (SP)
