I am surprised your headset, after only two months purchased, the earphones on one side quit working. Yes, of course BOTH sides of earphones are suppose to work simultaneously. Maybe the headset is under a warranty of some kind, and to be sure you can read about this inside box it came in, and or, on either the Best Buy website and or the HyperX website. Sounds to me and in my own opinion, could be a manufacturers defect and usually is covered under warranty for a replacement the headset or perhaps fixing the side which is not in working order anymore. I suggest you hold on to the box it came in, the packaging materials, all papers that came inside product box, and either the gift receipt or original purchase receipt, and to register your product as soon as it comes out of the box. This way you have any info that may be needed when figuring out the steps of registering and or receiving any type of assistance in remedying any problems or defects. If all else fails, you could always report this to the BBB, and or, actually write a letter directly to the company which manufactures this headset explaining the problems associated with this product. Be sure to thoroughly explain the issues you are encountering while using headset and the length in time you have owned and used this product, what steps taken to fix or try to fix these issues, any outcomes as well as the reactions you may have received from others while contacting others regarding the malfunctioning headset and how this all has made you feel about the brand and or company or companies and exactly the specifics on how they could remedy this so that you might consider purchasing from them in the future. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Both are supposed to work, I think we both can agree on that. If one isn't working, from my experience its because something happened to the cable causing shortage. Since its inexpensive that's an easy replace. Be a little more gentle next time.
