Aye there, you need to make sure your HDMI is plugged into your graphics card. Look at the back of your pc, you will see the other HDMI slot that is running horizontal. You probably have your HDMI plugged into your motherboard. Hook your HDMI to your graphics card and the problem should stop.

Connect your HDMI or whatever connection your using to the lower one. Then you will be able to control the display. If you've already did that, I would take it back to have them look at it. There might be something that is not correctly installed or connected. Hope it helps.
