• Is the monitor connected directly to the graphics card via HDMI cable? I had the same problem. Don't connect the monitor to the regular HDMI port on the tower. There are little rubber safeties in the ports to protect them. Hope this helps.

• Open task manager and close every other programs that are running. Make sure that Microsoft programs aren't hogging CPU.
