• You can connect to a speaker system that does not have wireless capability and then connect your other wireless devices to the receiver.

• Only BT. Cable only charges the unit but connection with your device is wireless. That's why it still works when you disconnect the cable.

• I have only used it as a BT speaker. Only cable in use for me is the charge cord. Get about 5 to 6 hrs on a charge.
