“I start for a first time to used my new Insignia microwave but, I put rice in bag for microwave for 6 minutes and when it finished I set another 6 minutes and after 4 minutes running stop working and is overheating, why?”

a frozen bag of pre-cooked rice should not take 10 min to microwave trader Joe's frozen rice takes 4 1/2 min sounds like the overheating occurred because the product was microwaved too long. you need to be careful & follow directions on cooking times & heat settings for each type of product you warm/heat/cook. plastic bags/containers & food products can melt or burn and can cause fires if over microwaved the booklet that came with device gives guidelines for use and products you purchase should have instructions on how to heat/warm /cook
