- Answer Sounds like you need a modem to plug the "cable" cable into, then you'll plug an Ethernet cable from the modem to the PC. A better and more secure way would be to put a wireless router between the modem and PC which will keep you protected from the Internet.

- Answer No, but if you have it set up you should be able to access the hard drive of the PC if it’s on the network. Connecting it with a Ethernet cable basically does nothing

- Answer The cable jacket is only rated for indoor use. Dumping coffee on the cable jacket will not hurt it. But the cable jacket will not stand up to the weather. The connectors are standard molded plug in style, and are not waterproof. You can run this cable as a finished installation in a dry basement, attic, or suspended ceiling. But, the cable will not take high heat, and can not be run near lighting fixtures, stoves, electric heat baseboard, and so on. The old rule of thumb applies, if you can not hold your hand continuously where you want to run the cable, do not run the cable there!

- Answer A CAT 6 will work just fine, just try to keep off of the ground if you can. If not then I would bury it in tubing just to keep it safe...

- Answer Most insulation is a petroleum compound with fibers mixed in. It is important to know if your CAT 5 or CAT 6 is PLENUM RATED before you use it as a data cable in the attic of your house! Blue thicker insulation tends to be plenum rated while grays and whites not so much.

- Answer Connecting your computer directly to the router can improve the performance with games. Using a cable to connect to the router should provide the maximum speed available from your network. Connecting over wireless can significantly reduce the speed of data to and from the router. It depends on the router, the speed of its wireless signals and how many active wireless networks are near enough to you to interfere. The Nighthawk should do a pretty good job with interference, but you should be using the 5Ghz channel, not the 2.4Ghz channel for the gaming computer if you need to go wireless.

- Answer I don't see why not. Assuming your router and your TV both have Ethernet connectors, CAT 6 is the best cable you can buy (probably more than you really need even).
