The door is reversible and you can remove the racks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Sammy, The door can open either way, as the hinge is moveable, but unit is initially set up for left side opening. Also, unit is designed for horizontal storage. It uses compressor tech., thus the storage space is 14 rather tan 20 as the cooling unit size requires.

You have the option to reverse and make it open from the right with about 15 minutes of time and removing/reinstalling a few screws. Racks can be removed but you would be limited to about 2 or 3 bottles that are able to be standing because this cooler is made for the rack style placement. The interior storage area is not completely open as there needs to be space made for the compressor and other working components. The top two racks go all the way back and the bottom shelf where the bottles are pictured left to right are due to the back half of the cooler being pushed forward to accommodate the compressor. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am a right handed person so it opens up toward the right side. However, the cooler has the versatility to switch the door from left or right.

Racks are removable but the lower portion of the unit houses the hardware and is half as deep as the top two racks. Lower section also has the temp dial . Temp choices are limited- Off, Cold, Normal, and Colder. Normal chills at about 52f.
