If you’re running the Ethernet cable across a floor, I would use a low-profile, rubberized cable raceway/floor cord cover, not just tape or a plastic strip. For your home theater setup, look for: * Wide enough for 1 Cat6/Cat6A cable * Low-profile so you don’t trip * Heavy-duty rubber or PVC * Non-slip bottom * Preferably a center channel so the cable isn’t crushed * If you’re crossing a doorway, use a floor-rated threshold/ramp style If the cable will eventually be installed permanently, I’d rather run it inside the wall, ceiling, baseboard, or conduit than leave it on the floor.

Best Buy carries Unique Bargains brand, which are a bit pricey, but do offer a good mix of colors and sizes. If you are on a budget for this item, then shoping Amazon, Home Depot or Lowes is your best option. My floor in grey so matching it was easy.
