If you read closely the description says each speaker contains a 16w subwoofer. It's built into the speaker, so really it's a woofer not a subwoofer. Marketing is stretching the terminology too far. Insignia's website does not include any frequency response specs. That should tell you they're nothing to brag about. For $29 bucks the reviews are good. But I'd move on if you're looking for wall-shaking bass.

Just two speakers came with mine, no subwoofer....they may sell a set that includes a subwoofer at a higher cost....
