• no ...bluetooth is no proprietary to apple. bluetooth is just bluetooth regardless of maker of the product that carries bluetooth inside it. A device that is Bluetooth compatible is all you need to have to pair it up.

• Yes it will work with an android. I have the galaxy 6 edge and it works perfectly when wanting to listen to music.
