• No automatic defrost. You have to turn it off and let it defrost.

• It doesn't need it because it only gets a very very thin layer of ice that doesn't require a defroster.

• No, it does not have auto defrost. The web site specifications for the black unit are incorrect while the specification for the white unit correctly lists manual defrost.

• Are we all looking at the same Insignia 2.6 Cu Ft. Mini Fridge with Model:NS-CF26BK9 SKU:614510 2? Because in the specifications, it shows Defrost Type: Automatic but all the answers says no auto defrost ??

• It isn't a freezer, so there is nothing to defrost. It chills food. I put popsicles in there and they never got hard. Just very cold liquid.
