2) get a wye adapter from 1/8 plug to rca plugs and wire it in to an input

You would need to purchase an 1/8th inch to RCA cable and utilize the headphone outlet. If you want to go wireless you would need a Bluetooth audio adapter

This unit does have two red/white audio inputs on the back labeled as AUX in. You can connect to that with a cable that is red/white on one end and a 3.5mm headphone connection on the other. Then just power everything on and change to the AUX input that you connected to. That cable is a relatively common cable and is available at Best Buy.

You can connect through the Blue Tooth option. I play music using my cell phone, IPad, and Android tablet through the stereo this way almost every day.
