• The bluetooth is accessible without the remote with the input button on the front of the receiver. There is no config beyond that except with the device that connects to it but that is normally just "connect to" button on that. Wouldn't toss the remote however. The bass/treble and speaker connections are controlled through the remote.

• Yes you can use the Bluetooth without the remote, but I wouldn't throw it away.

• You can access bluetooth with remote or at the receiver. You can use the receiver by remote or at receiver. So if you loose the remote you can still do everything.
