“Been using my laptop as a second TV but don't want to burn it out. Can I hook this TV up easily to my xfinity account? I never used a "fire " anything before. I want to get a few "regular" cable channels plus my netflix and amazon prime too.”

You can download the Xfinity app to the Fire TV. It will require your Xfinity login to verify and access the services you're subscribed to. One note is the cable channel navigation experience is not great as voice navigation is not supported on the app. The TV's remote does not have number pads to go to a 3-digit channel easily. The workaround is to "favorite" the cable channels you normally watch so that only those channels are listed under "Favorite Channels".
