- Answer You can hook up a DirecTV box into one of the HDMI inputs on the TV. Try the Power On feature, when enabled, your TV turns on displaying the last used input: go Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On and select Last Input.

- Answer Any app downloaded to fire stick can also be downloaded to this tv. I have fire sticks on my other 4 tvs. I don't notice any difference between this tv and my other tvs.

It's an interface that lets you stream media via a Wi-Fi connection, using certain apps. However, this TV has HDMI ports that allow you to connect your laptop and use this television as a display while you surf the Internet with a browser on your laptop.
