That depends on what you are connecting your HDTV to. If the device has HDMI outputs on it then using HDMI is better than most anything. There are some other cables that offer just as good image quality, but it all depends on whether they transmit digital, or analog signals. Digital is better.

Nope, a 4K rated cable will not improve pixel-based resolution beyond the native pixel dimensions of the display. In your case, besides being overkill, this cable would only serve as a future convenience for a subsequent kitchen TV replacement with native 4K.

Not if the TV is not a 4K unit. Regular HDMI will work great. If you are using an antenna, HDMI is not needed at all unless you are connecting a DVD or something.
