Yes, the 1,400W generator will be fine. The unit draws 1.5A at 115VAC which is only 173W. Allowing for a 3-4A inrush at startup, your still looking at less than 500W momentary. As for time to reach temp, 2-3 hours for stability: 1. After the initial 4hr settling period following a move and setup, plug in the fridge, turn it on, and set the thermostat to "7" for two hours. 2. After 2 hours, I've found a setting of "5" will maintain both ice in the freezer and a good temp in the fridge, but that can vary by the environment. Finally, you mention the North 40. Be sure the fridge is in a protected environment out of the sun and rain with good ventilation in the back. Also, be aware that the bottom/rear is open to possible intrusion by vermin who may find the inner workings tasty or a cozey place for a nest.
