I like my water very cold. I keep 2 ice cube trays in the freezer and I refill at least one every day. By the next morning the newly filled tray is frozen solid. I imagine it would keep ice cream frozen as well. Keep in mind it isn't a large capacity freezer so you'll want to get the lower/shorter tubs of ice cream to fit in height.
