I bought a repossessed Kenmore washer/dryer set 36 years ago. The washer recently had transmission problems. Based on the constant start stop action of this washer (and probably all newer washers), I have reservations as to if this washer will last any where close to 36 years. The sales person stated that this washer is belt driven and that direct drive setups are only on the much more expensive models. If you are use to the way the older washers work, the newer washers get the job done, but run a bit different.
