I see there is no one who answered your question--- the belt for the Insignia probably shredded because it was installed backwards. We had the same problem. But the belt is also extremely tight. So far we have not been able to repair it. We purchased the identical belt but it seems nearly impossible to reinstall it. Looking at the drive pulley it appears that there are 4 alignment holes that a fixture probably can attach - this fixture likely has an arm that gives enough leverage to allow the belt to be installed.
