“Is there a way that the tv can be set so that it will do directly to cable (HDMI 1) when you turn it on? It's annoying that you have to change the input every time you turn the tv on.”

You can have go to whatever you were last watching when it was on. Go to "Settings" "Display & Sounds" "Power Controls" . Then Highlight "Last Input" and hit select. The check mark should move from "Home" to "Last Input"
