This will work with a VCR but only if it has RCA (Yellow/Red?White) ports. I think the tuner is digital only so doubt it will take an analog coax signal (the screw in kind). I could be wrong. You can still find devices that will convert the VCR's analog signal to digital. Keep in mind though this is a 720p so the VCR's signal will not be very sharp as will any other HDTV. It'll be the same quality as if watching old tv shows.
