“Does this tv have controls on the actual TV(i.e. menu, volume control, on/off etc) or are all functions controlled via a remote. Recently discovered some Insignia TVs can only be controlled by remote.”

• The Insigna does NOT have manual buttons - It is 100% controlled by remote....

• Hi CM. The TV only has a power button built-in. For other functions (e.g.: Menu, Volume up and down, Changing channels) please keep your remote at hand. Charles V. - Insignia Support https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us

• It does have the buttons you mention on the right-hand side of the set. However, I think you would need to use the remote to change channels.
