• If a PC, make sure your Multiple Display setting is at "extend these displays" which will enable you to have the mirror display with the main screen/desktop active.

• This is how I am using mine, straight hdmi to hdmi connection and started right. Up. Maybe toggle between the hdmi sources on the tv to make sure you have the right one.
