Yes, you can connect a DVD player to this TV.

There is not a DVD player built-in to the TV, but you can always buy a DVD player and connect it to the TV via composite video or HDMI. It does not have component video inputs. I think all DVD players either have composite video outputs and/or HDMI outputs. The picture should be noticeably better if connected with an HDMI cable.
