I have noticed it is very close to the setting. So, after a few minutes if the humidity goes up just a percent or 2 it comes right back on again. Because I live near the coast, where it is damp, if I use a setting, it shuts on and off every few minutes once it reaches the setting, constantly making a lot of noise, so I use the continuous setting and simply shut if off when it is not needed. They need to have a high and low setting so there is some time before it comes right back on again.
