“In the bag with the instructions and ice cube tray was one screw and a black plastic piece that has a hook on one end and and knob on the other. No reference to these items in the instructions. Anyone know what they are for?”

• It is for changing the door to swing in the other direction I believe.

• I believe that is just an extra screw for when you want to change which side the doors open. If you lose 1 screw, you have a replacement. If you more than 1 than you are screwed. The irony. As for the plastic, it is probably to hold the screw in place when tightening it.
