• A:Answer Don't listen to the previous 2 answers as they are not correct. Anytime you turn a refrigerator or freezer on any side other than its legs, you must let the appliance sit in it designed position from the recommended time as stated in the manual. The rule of thumb is 24 hours. When you place a refrigerator or freezer on its top or side for any amount of time, you are taking the oil in the compressor and not allowing it it sit where it needs to be. It can take up to 24 hours for the oil in the compressor to return to the location of the compressor that the oil needs to be. If you plug the appliance in too early or before the oil returns to the bottom of the compressor, you lower the life of the appliance.

• A:Answer I purchased 3 (one for each of my kids going off to different colleges). 1 was dented when we unboxed it & had a high pitched whining noise. 1 doesn't stay cold when there's more than 4 cans of soda. The last one keeps frosting up in the freezer, but if the temp control is turned down then the fridge isn't cold enough. They aren't horrible but I wish I would have gone with anything else.

Q: QuestionWhat's the best setting to ensure food is cold in the refrigerator but not too cold in the freezer? I plugged mine in early this morning and set at 7 for two hours, then turned down to 4 and it's not keeping contents in the refrigerator cold.

• A:Answer We followed the instructions in the manual and it has worked like it should. I have the settings set at 4 and it keeps my beer cold in the refrigerator and my ice cream frozen in the freezer. I also use the ice tray that came with the fridge to make my ice and it keeps them frozen. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer The unit weighs about 68 pounds and has a base dimension of about 20" by 20". I would NOT put it on a shelf with those characteristics. Because of it's height of 43", the weight and distribution of the food inside could cause it to become top heavy and opening the freezer door could cause it to tip. If you really need something that goes on a shelf get a somewhat shorter one. In general, I would not recommend putting any refrigerator on a shelf.
