A:Answer I brought my fridge home on its side-- about a 45-min drive. When I got home, I placed it upright but did not plug it in for 24 hours. I couldn't find a specific recommendation from the manufacturer or from BestBuy about this, but it is generally recommended to not transport fridges on their side, or if you do, to wait 4-24 hours with it upright before you turn it on. This allows oil in the compressor to drain back down to where it is supposed to be. So anyway, I waited a full 24 hours with it upright to be safe, and the fridge has been working perfectly from the moment I plugged it in. I don't have the expertise to make any general recommendations about this issue, but it worked out fine for me.
