By law in california anything related to chemicals/plastics that cause cancer its required to put that.
It relies on a flammable coolant to cool the fridge which a lot of fridges do and they also use a type of plastic that if ingested can cause issues. The fridge is safe just be sure to not damage the fridge so coolant is leaking and dont scratch up the interior badly and put food making direct contact with the damaged plastic interior and you will be fine.
