“When you defrost where does the water go?. I see a hole in bottom of refridgerator section, but have no idea where that goes and if it has anything to do with freezer.”

This is not a frost-free model so it will need to be emptied and allowed to thaw. Any ice build up has no where to drain other than inside the freezer unit.
