“I understand that the popping/cracking noises when the compressor goes on/off is normal, and eventually will disappear or be less loud (read this in another manual). Still I was wondering how long it would take for that to happen?”

I have had this mini fridge plugged in for 2+ weeks. I hear the popping sound several times an hour. I wanted this fridge for my son's dorm room, but am worried it will drive him crazy. A smaller mini fridge we have has never made this sound.
