I have had this mini fridge plugged in for 2+ weeks. I hear the popping sound several times an hour. I wanted this fridge for my son's dorm room, but am worried it will drive him crazy. A smaller mini fridge we have has never made this sound.

Please try again later.Popping and cracking noises from a mini fridge, especially when the compressor turns on or off, are generally normal as the materials in the appliance expand or contract with changes in temperature. These noises should diminish over time as the fridge settles into its operating routine. Typically, it may take a few days to a couple of weeks for these noises to become less frequent and noticeable. However, if the sounds persist beyond a couple of weeks or become louder, it could indicate a mechanical issue or misalignment. If you're concerned about the noises or if they seem unusual, it's always a good idea to consult the manufacturer’s manual or contact customer service for advice. Make sure the fridge is level and has adequate airflow around it, as these factors can also contribute to noise levels.
