I am not an electrician but I have a little bit of experience. Older houses with no ground use the neutral as their ground. Two prong plugs will have one of the prongs larger that goes in the neutral side as it's ground. If an outlet on an older house has a three-pronged outlet but that outlet is not wired to a ground itself it is useless as a grounded Outlet, using a grounding screw in the middle of the plate does nothing. I hope a real electrician sees this and critiques me and keeps me from doing anybody harm as well as myself LOL
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
