The button tends to be defective. The button on the first one I had worked for a week, letting me turn the fan on and off. Then one day the the fan came on at full, and tapping the button had no effect. I returned it to the store and got a replacement, and the second one the fan was stuck in the on mode right out of the box and tapping the button had no effect. Will be returning for a third one.
