- Answer A CAT 6 will work just fine, just try to keep off of the ground if you can. If not then I would bury it in tubing just to keep it safe...

- Answer Most insulation is a petroleum compound with fibers mixed in. It is important to know if your CAT 5 or CAT 6 is PLENUM RATED before you use it as a data cable in the attic of your house! Blue thicker insulation tends to be plenum rated while grays and whites not so much.

- Answer Connecting your computer directly to the router can improve the performance with games. Using a cable to connect to the router should provide the maximum speed available from your network. Connecting over wireless can significantly reduce the speed of data to and from the router. It depends on the router, the speed of its wireless signals and how many active wireless networks are near enough to you to interfere. The Nighthawk should do a pretty good job with interference, but you should be using the 5Ghz channel, not the 2.4Ghz channel for the gaming computer if you need to go wireless.

- Answer I don't see why not. Assuming your router and your TV both have Ethernet connectors, CAT 6 is the best cable you can buy (probably more than you really need even).

QuestionWhy is this cat 6 if insignia is saying its only good for 1Gbps speed? Isn't cat 6 supposed to handle 10Gbps up to 180 feet long?? What am I missing here? I have 2 Gig fiber internet and im thinking about 5 Gig.

- Answer The packaging the cable came in and my testing showed it was capable of 10Gbps as long as your equipment can use 10Gbps. There's a lot of consumer devices out there that still only have 1 Gbps network controllers, or even worse 100 Mbps such as the Roku Ultra
